Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of the Menue iOS app and the website at getmenue.app (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

Who we are

Menue is operated by Jørgen Lybeck Hansen, based in Oslo, Norway. Contact: jorgenlybeck94@gmail.com.

What Menue is

Menue is a kitchen companion app for households. It helps you manage shopping lists, plan meals, save recipes, and (with a Pro subscription) use AI to import and generate recipe content.

Your account

You need an account to use most features. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your sign-in credentials safe. You’re responsible for activity on your account, including activity by other members of your household.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything illegal
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorized access
  • Upload content that infringes someone else’s rights
  • Abuse the AI features (e.g. send hateful prompts or attempt to extract our prompts)
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Pro subscriptions

Menue Pro unlocks AI-powered features. Subscriptions are sold through Apple and managed in your Apple ID settings.

  • Pricing: Monthly and Yearly plans, both starting with a 7-day free trial. Prices shown in the app are localized to your App Store region.
  • Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Free trial: If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, you’ll be charged the regular price. Cancelling during the trial is free.
  • Managing your subscription: You can view, change, or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
  • Refunds: All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com, subject to Apple’s policies.

Your content

Recipes, shopping lists, meal plans, and any other content you create remain yours. You give us a limited license to host, store, and display your content so the Service can show it to you and to other members of your household.

AI features

AI-generated content (imported recipes, suggested ingredients, generated recipes) is produced by third-party language models. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, or contain ingredients you’re allergic to. Always read AI output carefully before cooking. We’re not responsible for outcomes resulting from following AI-generated instructions.

Our intellectual property

The Menue app, brand, design, and source code belong to us. These Terms do not transfer any ownership in the Service to you.

Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. If we make a material change that significantly reduces the value of a paid subscription, we’ll let you know in advance and you can cancel for a pro-rated refund through Apple.

Termination

You can stop using Menue and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access ends and we delete your data per the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or anything that cannot be excluded under mandatory Norwegian consumer law.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go to Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett), unless mandatory consumer law gives you a different choice of venue.

Changes to these Terms

When we make material changes we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, when appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
