Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Menue (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Menue iOS app or the website at getmenue.app (together, the “Service”).
Who is responsible
The data controller is Jørgen Lybeck Hansen, based in Oslo, Norway. You can reach us at jorgenlybeck94@gmail.com.
What we collect
We collect only the data we need to run the Service:

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos (other than ones you explicitly add to a recipe), advertising identifiers, or any data we don’t need for the Service. We never sell your data to anyone.
Service providers we use
Menue is a small team and we rely on trusted infrastructure providers to operate the Service. We share data with them only to the extent they need to do their job:
- Supabase (EU region) — database and authentication. All your kitchen data lives here.
- RevenueCat — handles your Pro subscription entitlement. Receives a pseudonymous user ID; never your email or content.
- Apple — processes payments through the App Store. See Apple’s own privacy policy for how they handle that.
- Sentry (EU region) — crash and performance reporting. May include device model, OS version, and a stack trace when something goes wrong.
- PostHog (EU region) — anonymous product analytics (which screens are used, in aggregate). No personal content.
- Google Gemini — when you use AI features, the recipe content you import is sent to Gemini for processing. Google does not train models on this data per their API terms. We never send your account or other personal data.
Where data is stored
Your data is stored in EU-based data centers. Sentry and PostHog are configured for EU residency. Apple may process payment information in your local region.
How long we keep data
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete all your kitchen data within 30 days. Crash reports auto-expire after 90 days.
Your rights
Under GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data and account
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
- Object to processing or restrict it
- Lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet)

Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your data and cancels your Pro subscription on next renewal. You can also email us if you prefer.
Children
Menue is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we make material changes we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, when appropriate, notify you in the app.
